Getting started

Protect your sign-in with two-step verification

Turn on a code from your authenticator app, save your backup codes, and know what happens when your workspace requires it.

Two-step verification protects your account with a second step at sign-in: after your password, you enter a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone. Someone who learns your password still cannot sign in without your phone.

Turn it on

  1. In STS Connect, open your profile and turn on two-step verification.
  2. Scan the code shown with an authenticator app. Any standard app works, for example Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.
  3. Enter the 6-digit code the app shows, to confirm you scanned the right code.
  4. Save the backup codes somewhere safe. Each one signs you in once if you lose your phone, and they are not shown again.

Signing in afterwards

Each time you sign in, enter your password and then the 6-digit code the app shows at that moment. If you cannot use your phone, switch to a backup code and enter one of the codes you saved; each code works once.

When your workspace requires it

Administrators can require two-step verification for the whole workspace. If it is required and you have not turned it on yet, you are asked to turn it on in your profile before you can finish signing in. See Add team members and seats for what each role can do.

If you lose your phone and your codes

Write to our team with your company name and we will help you back in. Then turn two-step verification on again with your new phone.
